Beijing, 18th August 2025 (BISTU)--- BISTU delegation headed by Vice President Xiao Zhisong visited Tianjin University and Hebei University of Technology on 17th August 2025 to explore new momentums for high-quality development of the University.

Xiao Zhisong met with Yao Jianquan (academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Tianjin University, Director of Institute of Laser and Opto-electronics, and an authoritative expert in laser and nonlinear optics). In-depth discussions were organized on collaboration in research platforms, research projects, and reform of talent cultivation mechanisms.

Academician Yao Jianquan spoke highly of the achievements and rapid development of BISTU in academic discipline building and research innovation. He pointed out that BISTU is now on a big-stride development phase. Its distinctive feature in information and industries indicated great potentials. It was expected that both institutions would work together in frontier fields like opto-electronics testing and measurement and intelligent instrument to provide platforms for growth of young faculty and students.

Xiao Zhisong expressed that the University will provide full support with the collaboration between College of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering and the team of Academician Yao Jianquan. He is convinced that new momentum would be added to the development of BISTU in frontier technologies.

Vice President Chen Hongyan of Hebei University of Technology met with Xiao Zhisong and BISTU delegation members. The meeting was attended by Director Zhao Yingying and Deputy Director Feng Yong of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Dean Shi Gengshan and Vice Dean He Jingfei of School of International Education, and Dean Qing Longbang of Arizona College of Technology.

Discussions were conducted on holistic planning of educational globalization, over-seas campus building, management of joint projects, etc. Chen Hongyan explained innovative measures that Hebei University of Technology has taken in building Finland Campus and joint-running projects, including cross-cultural curricula, dynamic adjustment of education plan, cultivation of students’ global competitiveness, etc. and shared experiences and practices in risk control and quality assurance.

Xiao Zhisong expressed that visit to Hebei University of Technology could bring in valuable experiences for educational globalization at BISTU. Aiming to exploring new pathways for a globalized university, BISTU would enhance two-bound education to nurture high-quality talents with global horizon and cross-cultural competence in the field of information technology.

In-depth dialogues during the visits to the universities have helped build new pathways to coordinated research and globalized education. Future days would see more explorations on strategic cooperation with top universities and research institutions, a new momentum in boosting BISTU’s global influence and building BISTU as a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology.
