Beijing, 21st March 2019, (BISTU)—Xiaoying Campus of BISTU welcomes opening ceremony for Campaign for International Exchange and Communication Programs in 2019 attended by Vice President Chen Gang, Director Mi Jie of Academic Affairs’ Office, deputy secretaries of CPC BISTU schools, and faculties and staff responsible for international cooperation. The ceremony is hosted by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department.
Chen Gang addresses to the ceremony. Following his positive comments on efforts and achievements of International Cooperation Department, Academic Affairs Office, and other relating divisions in respect of international exchange and communication, Chen Gang points out that as of today the University has established effective, actively links with 80-odd universities around the world. The number of students participating in exchange programs is increasing. And level of cooperation has been constantly improving. It is hoped that these international exchange and communication programs would offer opportunities for BISTU students to get access to quality resources in top universities of the world and help them grow up to be talents of applied learning with international horizon, being familiarized with international norms and rules, and being capable of playing a role in international affairs and competitions. Since 2017 the University has designated March and April of each year as campaign months for international exchange and communication. It is expected that each student would find the most suitable program and make the best choice.
Dr. Lu Jing delivers a report covering general information and progress of international exchange and communication in all BISTU schools, publicity of international cooperation, experience sharing, and summarization of past successes and lessons as well as introduction to key projects to be conducted in 2019.
Mi Jie talks about management and procedure of Academic Affairs’ Office in respect of coordination with the 13th Five-Year Plan and strategic objectives of the University. She offers a detailed introduction to issues regarding students’ status, course mapping, credit transfer, and degree award of long-term exchange programs as well as credit transfer of short-term programs. Each year the University will select students of excellence to participate in professional learning and practice. Visits to world famous institutions and enterprises and dialogue with faculties and students of international institutions help greatly in broadening horizon and accumulating knowledge. Says Mi Jie.
The ceremony is attended by deans, chairs of departments, faculties, and students of School of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, School of Automation, School of Information Management, Marxism School, and School of Media and Public Administration.
