Beijing, 9th August 2023 (BISTU)--- BISTU was honored with a number of prizes in Beijing Section of the 9th China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, e.g., 2 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 20 third prizes in higher education sector, 3 third prizes in “Youth for socialist cause” sector, and 1 third prize in industry sector, in addition to the award of organizing excellence, according to the winner list announced by Beijing Municipal Education Commission on 8th August 2023.  

Beijing Section of the 9th China International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition accommodated 1,405 items. Online preliminary assessment saw 676 entering the semi-final. The 5th August 2023 witnessed five items of BISTU competing for the first prizes. And in the end BISTU teams won two first prizes, i.e., “Dancing together in the fields: auto-learning unmanned pilot for agricultural machines” team (headed by Hu Kejun and supervised by Li Lianpeng, Liu Ning, and Wang Yang) and “Blade for agricultural revitalization: compound multifunctional rubber tapping robot” team (headed by Hu Fuqing and supervised by Sun Jianghong and Ning Yu).  

Preparations for the Competition started as early as March 2023, followed by three seminars on entrepreneurship and innovation, 8 lectures on hands-on skills in entrepreneurship and innovation, and over 20 training seminars on how to make an outstanding entrepreneurial project. And over 190 items (joined by more than 1,400 students and faculties) were attracted to the Competition.  

Taking the opportunity of organizing North China Five Provinces College Students Robotics Competition and being responsible for state-level virtual teaching research room of Shahe University League, BISTU has been investing efforts in building platforms for cross-regional robotics competitions and practices. The year 2022 saw the University being selected as a first-cohort institution for entrepreneurship and innovation education. Top design then was optimized and featured cultivation system with focus on entrepreneurship and innovation was established. A learning scenario of “Information plus intelligence plus 5R” now has been built to serve the social and economic demand of our country and to empower talent cultivation with information technology.
