Beijing, March 4^th, 2014 (BISTU) --- Vice President Xu Baojie meets Halmstad University Delegation and explores student exchange programmes between both institutions. This is the first cohort of international partners visiting BISTU, igniting 2014 international exchange and communication. 

Xu Baojie extends his warmest welcome to Swedish friends. He stresses that a good beginning will lead to a series of successes in future cooperation. Following introduction to primary and key tasks of BISTU in the new year, Xu Baojie saysinternational cooperation remains a university focus in 2014. BISTU students are expecting more exchanges with international partners to broaden the horizon and enhance global awareness. And mutual understanding and friendship will be further developed by a sustainable cooperative relationship between two universities with joint projects on master and doctoral level, faculty visiting, and student exchanges.

Mr. Ulf Ivarsson, Director of International Office lists fruitful cooperation projects between two universities, including confirmation of undergraduate and postgraduate exchange programmes, faculty exchange, etc. BISTU postgraduate students have won their reputation of diligence and intelligence at Halmstad University. Cooperation between two institutions will surely be deepened and broadened. 

During the discussion, both institutions explores details on confirmed cooperation projects. Detailed exploration between Dr. Jörgen Carlsson, Director of Computing and Communication Laboratory, and Prof. Li Ning, Dean of School of Computer Science covers a wide variety of topics, including faculty exchange, long and short term students exchange, module choosing, credit transfer, as well as life and study in Sweden.  

Prof. Mike Danilovic, Director of Innovation Management Science Program, exchanges views about MBA cooperation and joint doctoral degree programmes, followed by visiting labs and learning resources centre of School of Economics and Management. Mr. Stig Perttu, Director of Admissions, also offers a specialize lecture to BISTU undergraduate and postgraduate students on living and studying in Sweden.

Also present at the meeting are directors and supervisors of School of Economics and Management, School of Computer Science, and International Cooperation Department.
