Beijing, 7th August 2023 (BISTU)--- BISTU FAI team composed of five students of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, i.e., Yang Changru, Zhao Dezuo, Fang Xiang, Chen Xi, and Yao Chaofan, won a second prize in complete model group of North China Section in the 18th National College Students Intelligent Car Competition held at Taiyuan Institute of Technology from 17th to 19th July 2023. The Competition attracted 327 teams from 77 higher educational institutions from all round China.  

Aiming at nurturing students, encouraging participation and exploration, and seeking academic preeminence, National College Students Intelligent Car Competition was an engineering practice for college students all over China. Attendants were required to design and make intelligent cars which could autonomously drive along certain roads in competition. It involved cross-disciplinary skills and knowledge, including mechanical structure, electronic circuits, motion control, development and adjustment of intelligent cars, which was believed to be able to motivate college students to engage in development and research in engineering technology.  

Complete model group of the 18th National College Students Intelligent Car Competition attracted 32 teams from Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Taiyuan Institute of Technology, etc. With sound preparation and outstanding performance, BISTU FAI team finally won a second prize and advanced to national sector of the Competition.
