Beijing, 11th December 2023 (BISTU)--- The 16th Annual Convention & Exhibition for National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Undergraduate Students celebrated its grand opening on 9th December 2023 at Hainan University. Two BISTU programs, i.e., “transportation robot capable of adjusting goods’ position” supervised by Huang Xiaolong of School of Electromechanical Engineering and “BeiDou-based & IoT-OBD-based dean-zone-free heavy-asset real-time monitoring system” supervised by Xie Yinggang of School of Information and Communication Engineering, was listed in the Convention & Exhibition where 114 programs from 109 non-MOE-supervised universities were included. BISTU became one of the five non-MOE-supervised universities which had two programs listed for the Convention & Exhibition.
National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Undergraduate Students is an important part in innovation and entrepreneurship education at BISTU. The recent five years have seen 1300-odd students contributing to over 260 programs. The Training Program also witnessed an annual production of around 100 journal articles and over 10 patents and software copyrights. It has provided help with students in winning over 100 awards on provincial-level academic discipline competitions. Around 50% of students on postgraduate recommendation program (exempt from the entrance examination to postgraduate education) have attended the Training Program.

National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Undergraduate Students is believed to lay a solid foundation for students to constantly enhance their competences in innovation. The University would take initiative in participating inter-school National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program for Undergraduate Students at Beijing to perfect the innovation and entrepreneurship educational system and to improve the quality of talent cultivation.
