Professor Zhang Jian Honored Capital Labor Medal

Beijing, 1st May 2023 (BISTU)——  Prof. Zhang Jian, Director of BISTU Office for Scientific Research and Dean of Advanced Technology Development Institute, was awarded Capital Labor Medal, according to the notice recently released by Beijing Municipal General Labor Union on winners of capital awards in 2023.  

 

  

  

  

  

The Capital Labor medal is awarded annually by the Beijing Municipal General Labor Union to honor employees who have made outstanding contributions to the construction of Beijing and the Communist Party in respect of economic construction, science and technology innovation, culture and education, and social causes. Appraisal of 2023 winners laid more focus on knowledge-oriented, skill-oriented, and innovation-oriented employees. In all there were 22 winners in educational system of Beijing.  

  

Zhang Jian, professor, Ph.D. supervisor, is currently Director of BISTU Office for Scientific Research and Dean of Advanced Technology Development Institute, Director of Beijing International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Intelligent Decision-making and Big Data Application, Vice Chairman and Chief-Secretary of Beijing Research Society for Talents in Science and Technology, and member of technological committee for barcodes and standards of China. He is also entitled to special allowance granted by the State Council and has been listed in state-level talent project while being honored as Young Beijing Scholar, a talent of Beijing with outstanding contributions in science, technology, and management, an outstanding talent of MOE in the New Century, and a Rising Star of Beijing in Science and Technology.  

Upholding the principle of “fostering virtue through education”, Zhang Jian and his team members has long been integrating this principle with the whole process of teaching and academic research. They have been winners for many times in state-level or municipal-level contests.  

Facing with the demand of national development strategy and the municipal demand on building Beijing into a center of science and technology innovation as well as a center of cultures, Zhang Jian and his team members has constructed theoretical and practical research systems in the dimension of economic development momentum, integration of cultural, science and technology innovation, and quality of economic development. Recent years have seen Prof. Zhang Jian chair 1 state-level key research project, 2 projects sponsored by state-level funding, and 1 project sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation. He has also published over 100 high-level academic papers while becoming a winner of one second prize in National Science and Technology Progress Award, 2 second prizes of Beijing Science and Technology Award, one second prize in MOE Science and Technology Progress Award, and one third prize in National Business Science and Technology Progress.
