Beijing, 25th December 2023 (BISTU)--- Aiming at exploring cooperative links and expanding channels of international exchange and communication, Secretary Xie Jiangling of CPC BISTU Committee visited Education Office of Chinese Embassy Japan and four universities in Japan and Korea from 19th to 22nd December 2023.
On 19th December 2023, Xie Jiangling and BISTU delegation members paid a visit to Education Office of Chinese Embassy Japan and met with Education Councilor Du Kewei.

Following the warm welcome, Du Kewei introduced higher educational development in Japan and expressed that BISTU had its strengths and advantages in information technology areas. He expected greater achievements to be made in these areas. Xie Jiangling extended thanks to Du Kewei for the warm reception and offered an introduction to BISTU. He hoped that the Education Office would provide more guidance and support with regard to cooperation between BISTU and Japanese universities. Both parties conducted discussions on cooperative projects with Japan such as innovative cultivation of globalized high-caliber talents and exchange programs.

The delegation then visited four universities, i.e., Waseda University and Chiba University in Japan and Dankook University and Seokyeong University in Korea. Following campus tours on educational facilities such as university history archive galleries, libraries, labs, etc., the delegation conducted meetings and discussions with the universities on long and short-term students exchange programs, faculty exchange, and collaboration in academic research and then held seminars with Chinese students currently studying in these universities.

Universities that BISTU delegation visited have a relatively complete set of academic disciplines, outstanding achievements in teaching and research, and similarities with BISTU in respect of academic disciplines and programs. Short-term students exchange with Waseda University has been conducted for long. The recent few years saw the exchange held online due to COVID-19 and students reflected that their experiences and learning effectiveness were also affected. Visit of BISTU delegation to Waseda University successfully re-opened channels of exchanges. At Chiba University, Prof. Makoto Watanabe, Vice President for Education, Student and International Affairs, spoke highly of the achievements that BISTU has made in construction of the New Campus, academic discipline construction, and talent cultivation. He expected that the two institutions would explore collaboration on a higher level and a wider scope of areas. At Dankook University, Vice President Jaeil Kim offered a detailed introduction to Dankook and hoped that BISTU students would join the diversified learning environment of Dankook University. When visiting Seokyeong University, the delegation reached consensus with Seokyeong University on undergraduate education, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration.

Visits to these universities successfully strengthened collaboration and exchanges with Korean and Japanese higher educational institutions and displayed achievements that the University has made in recent years. International reputation of BISTU has also been enhanced.
