Beijing, 27th June 2025 (BISTU)--- Chairperson Xie Jiangling of BISTU University Council met with Beijing Academy of Science and Technology (BJAST) delegation headed by Vice President Zheng Xin on 27th June 2025.

Xie Jiangling extended warm welcome to Zheng Xin and delegation members. He pointed out that cooperation between both institutions has made progresses since the strategic cooperative agreement was signed. It was hoped that both institutions would strengthen communication, broaden the areas of cooperation, and jointly promote in-depth integration of industry, learning and research to contribute to high-quality development of Beijing. Xie Jiangling said.

Vice Chairperson Yu Shijie of the University Council hosted the meeting. He stressed that the University has been carrying forward the spirit of “saving our nation by engaging in industry and dedicating ourselves to the service of the country with industrial development” and has achieved substantial progress in school-running level, talent cultivation, and research findings. Yu Shijie spoke highly of BJAST as a pilot institution for science and technology reform in Beijing. Complementary advantages of both institutions indicated that cooperation could be facilitated in talent cultivation and resources sharing. He added that joint efforts in science and technology innovation by the two institutions would bring new momentum into high-quality development of Beijing.
Zheng Xin said that BJAST is shouldering important responsibilities in the objective of building Beijing into a center of scientific and technological innovation. Current focuses were on science and technology information, urban governance, commercialization of research findings, popularization of scientific knowledge, and providing support and service with key scientific and technological events. He pointed out that BISTU has great strengths in information technology and has made evident progresses in artificial intelligence and new generation of information technology. The in-depth integration of industry, learning and research would be an ideal starting point for both institutions to work together. He added that future days would see new cooperative paradigms between the two institutions.
The meeting was attended by directors of administrative department, research institutions, and research teams of both institutions.
