University of Northampton Visited BISTU

Beijing, 10th September 2026 (BISTU)--- Delegation of the University of Northampton visited BISTU on 7th September 2026. Vice President Mi Jie met with the delegation and conducted discussions on deepening global cooperation and boosting cultivation of globalized talents. The meeting was hosted by Director Wang Lei of Office of Global Affairs.

Mi Jie extended warm welcome to the delegation and offered an introduction to BISTU. She pointed out that recent years have witnessed salient growth of the University in talent cultivation, academic research and global cooperation. It was expected that both institutions would explore in-depth cooperation in joint curricula, faculty exchange, and innovation of talent cultivation models.

Debra Hinds, Interim Director of Global Engagement of the University of Northampton, offered an introduction to educational philosophies, academic strengths, and cross-border education of the University. She was confident with the prospect of future cooperation based on the reputation of UON in innovative teachers and cultivation of talents of applied learning.

Both institutions conducted in-depth discussions on matching their respective academic strengths, making joint talent cultivation schemes, and developing an innovative model for globalized talents.

During the visit, Debra Hinds and delegation members was showed around the university library and laboratories of College of Computer Science to be better informed of the educational environment, educational philosophies, and academic strengths of the University.

The meeting was attended by directors and deans of Office of Global Affairs, College of Computer Science, and College of Continuing Education.
