Beijing, 21st May 2025 (BISTU)--- Signing ceremony for strategic cooperation between BISTU and China Merchants Bank Beijing Branch successfully concluded on 21st May 2025 in Beijing. The Ceremony, hosted by President Zhang Liwei of Changping Sub-branch of China Merchants Bank, was attended by Chairperson Xie Jiangling of BISTU University Council and President Xu Mingjie of China Merchants Bank Beijing Branch.

Xie Jiangling shared recent innovative measures and achievement of BISTU in scientific and technological innovation, empowerment in technological transformation, and talent cultivation. Xie Jiangling pointed out that cooperation between China Merchants Bank Beijing Branch and BISTU has stable foundation and great potential. In-depth explorations would be conducted in respect of digital financial services, commercialization of research findings, and cultivation of innovative talents. He added that the cooperation aimed to realize resource sharing, leverage complementary strengths, foster co-construction and shared benefits, and promote synergistic development between both institutions.

Xu Mingjie offered an introduction to history, development status quo, and market influence of China Merchants Bank Beijing Branch, with focus on strengths and characteristics of China Merchants Bank in comprehensive financial services and financial technology. He hoped that both parties would bring their respective strengths into full play and share resources to facilitate financial innovation and to explore new patterns and new pathways for integration of finance and education. It is an effective way to support local social and economic development. Xu said.

Vice President Zhang Jian commented that both institutions could work together in a mutual beneficial manner in respect of establishment of joint-labs for financial technology and field practice bases.

Witnessed by Xie Jiangling and Xu Mingjie, Zhang Jian and Vice President Zhu Jianwu of China Merchants Bank Beijing Branch signed the agreement of strategic cooperation.

Xie Jiangling visited the exhibition hall of digital finance, a display of digital applications and innovative achievements of China Merchants Banks Beijing Branch in the area of customer services and risk management.

The signing ceremony was attended by faculty members of China Merchants Bank Beijing Branch, including Vice President Liu Xiao of Institutional Clients Department, Manager Liu Tingting of Services for Municipal Government Departments, Manager Yang Duan of Retail Customer Group Department, Vice President Cheng Guofeng of China Merchants Bank Changping Sub-branch, and President Yang He of China Merchants Bank Lingzhuan Sub-branch in Shahe Higher Education Zone as well as directors and deans of BISTU President’s Office, Department of Finance, External Liaison Office, and Business School.
