Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and BISTU Explored to Establish Ties

Beijing, 11th October 2024 (BISTU)--- Vice President Xiao Zhisong met with the delegation headed by Yanxian Liu, Senior Manager of International Recruitment of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) on 11th October 2024. Both institutions conducted in-depth discussions on establishing cooperative ties and possible areas of future cooperation. The meeting was joined by Nico Jäckel, Head of Sales & Marketing of KIT, and Stephanie Peer, Senior Manager of Graduate School of KIT, via video links.

Xiao Zhisong extended warm welcome to KIT delegation and offered a detailed introduction to BISTU. Reviewing the “Engineering Excellence Learning in Germany”, he commented that the Program has expanded global horizon and enhanced scientific literacy of BISTU students. Xiao Zhisong expressed that BISTU expected to conduct all-around cooperation with KIT, particularly in respect of faculty and student exchanges. He pointed out that Germany has rich advanced experiences in engineering education and industry-education integration. As one of the leading institutions of technology in Germany, KIT has a lot for us to learn. Xiao Zhisong hoped that both institutions would strengthen exchange and communication in the area of machinery and information technology.

Yanxian Liu extended sincere thanks to the warm reception and introduced KIT. He expressed that academic programs of KIT are in high agreement with those of BISTU, indicating a vast room of collaboration. He looked forward to promoting exchanges and communication in some key programs. Yanxian Liu spoke highly of BISTU students joining “Engineering Excellence Learning in Germany” program. He added that two-bound summer learning program would be implemented in the near future.

Both institutions conducted in-depth discussions on two-bound summer learning programs, faculty visit and exchange, faculty training, etc. Details of cooperation, including the possible model of cooperation, program arrangements, and credit transfer, are also fully explored.

The meeting and discussions were joined by faculty and staff of International Cooperation Department, School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering, School of Automation, School of Computer Science, School of Business, and School of International Education.
