Beijing, 4th June 2026 (BISTU)--- “Academician Seminar” of BISTU greeted Academician Sun Fengchun of Chinese Academy of Engineering delivering an academic report titled “Fusion of Green Transport and Green Energy & the Future of Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle” on 3rd June 2026 at Shahe Campus. President Guo Fu and Vice President Mi Jie met with Academician Sun Fengchun.

Both sides conducted in-depth discussions on future prospect of NEV industry, high-quality development of universities, and academic discipline building in the field of automobile.

The report was centered on fusion of green energy and green transport and future development of new energy cars. It analyzed status quo of NEV industry in China, the goal of 2035, and energy fusion strategy and explored development orientation of NEV industry in the next decade. Academician Sun Fengchun suggested that cooperation with enterprises and government sectors should be strengthened and that universities should take initiative in joining enterprise-led research projects.

The Q&A session saw heated discussions on development of higher education, automobile industry, and new energy technologies between Academician Sun Fengchun and BISTU faculty and students.

The report was hosted by Dean Su Peng of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Academic Sun Fengchun is currently the Director of Beijing Laboratory of New Energy Vehicles and the Director of Beijing Coordinated Innovation Center of Vehicles. He was previously the Director of National Engineering Laboratory for Electric Vehicles and Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology.

The report was attended by faculty and students of the Graduate School, Institute of Advanced Technology Development and Research, and College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
