CYUT President Dr. Chung-Jen Chin Visited BISTU

Beijing, 15th April, 2015(BISTU)--- Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT) delegation headed by President Chung-Jen Chin visited BISTU. Vice President of BISTU Feng Xichun welcomed the guests. The two universities explored on education of quality talents of applied learning in higher educational institutions and shared practices and experiences.     

 

Feng Xichun offered a detailed introduction to BISTU, covering the history of BISTU, education, research, and international cooperation. The two sides of Taiwan Strait speak the same language and think in the same way. This produces unique advantages for educational institutions of the two sides to work together. BISTU has been keeping close contact and friendship with Taiwan institutions whose educational ideas and management modes offered invaluable experiences for BISTU to follow. Said Feng Xichun.   

Dr. Chung-Jen Chin shared his experiences and practices in educating “featured” talents of applied learning at Chaoyang University of Technology. A large quantity of field practice was introduced into education. Both on-campus and off-campus internship aimed at “connecting the enterprises and serving the purpose of employment”. Students are required to keep the campus clean so as to fulfill the moral education part. Dr. Chung-Jen took the example of Pheromone Center of CYUT to illustrate achievements and experiences of CYUT in applied research. Pheromone Center has successfully synthesized biological hormones applicable to deinsectization. He expressed that suitable points of cooperation have been identified in BISTU’s School of Computer Science and Technology and School of Economics and Management. It is hoped that both institutions started from sending research fellows, faculties, and postgraduate students. Said Dr. Chung-Jen Chin.         

    

In the discussion, the two institutions reached mutual consent in exchange of postgraduate students and faculties in the area of computer and economic management. Further details are to be decided in coming discussions. 

The meeting and discussion were also attended by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of Office for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, Prof. Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, and Prof. Ge Xinquan, Dean of School of Economics and Management.
