Beijing, 3rd July, 2016(BISTU)--- President Wang Yongsheng attended Summit for Production Learning and Research Cooperation between Weihai and Cooperation Consortium of Beijing High Technology Universities (Beijing Tech) and agreed to cooperate with Beijing Tech and Nangai New District of Weihai with details to be further discussed. Vice President Liu Xiaoyi was also present at the Summit with corresponding divisions of BISTU.  

The Summit welcomed it grand opening at Weihai Campus of Beijing Jiaotong University. Weihai Mayor Zhang Hui extended warmest welcome to all guests, followed by self-introduction and strength display of Beijing Tech members. A strategic framework agreement was then signed to jointly construct "Beijing Tech-Weihai City of Science and Technology Innovation".  

According to the agreement, Beijing Tech will collaborate with Weihai in the field of marine technology, equipment of energy saving and smart equipment, new materials and fine chemistry, new medicine and biological technology, new energy, and electronic information. Campuses, branch schools and research institutes of Beijing Tech members are welcome in Weihai and Beijing Tech members would promote commercialization of scientific achievements in Weihai by establishing education training centers or labs for technology transfer. 　　 

Presidents of universities then visited Nanhai New District and its key enterprises as well as Blue Valley for Entrepreneurs--- a national level incubator for science and technology companies.  

Beijing Tech was established in 2011, composing of 12 universities who top their respective industries, i.e., Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications, Xidian University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, University of Science and technology Beijing, Beijing Forestry University, North China Electric Power University, Harbin Engineering University, China University of Geosciences in Beijing, China University of Mining and Technology Beijing, China University of Petroleum Beijing, and Yanshan University. Beijing Tech agreed to specially invite BISTU to all activities of this summit and to strengthen cooperation with BISTU in discipline construction and academic research.  

Wang Yongsheng expressed that attending this summit has produced a valuable opportunity for conducting in-depth cooperation with members of Beijing Tech and Weihai city. During the 13^th Five-year Plan, the University will seize every opportunity to join the mainstream of advanced level research and education so as to achieve the goal of constructing a featured, national first-class, and internationally famous university as soon as possible.
