Beijing, 14th December 2023 (BISTU)--- Aiming at implementing the principle of “diligence and honor” and offering better service for globalized learning among postgraduate students, the 2023 Salon for Sino-Foreign Joint-running Programs themed on “the pathway to international academics”, “AI aid in intelligent electronic systems”, and “improvement of international communication competences” was jointly organized by Postgraduate School, School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering, and School of Information and Communication Engineering on 8th November, 30th November, and 12th December.
Upon invitation, Prof. Zhu Jiang, Associate Professor Cai Yuanxin, and Associate Professor Zhang Siyu shared their experiences of learning abroad in the USA, Canada, and Australia in respect of learning methodologies, life abroad, communication and exchanges in humanities and cultures, and values at work. They also produced constructive suggestions for postgraduates on globalized learning. Academic research, and international exchange.

Assistant professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Oakland University offered a seminar on the latest progress with reinforcement learning and model predictive control with focus on their application in electrical vehicles and autonomous road vehicles. The seminar was joined by a number of supervisors of BISTU Sino-foreign joint-running program. Heated discussions were conducted on collaboration in electronic information field and joint-running programs.

Yang Lianxiang, Distinguished Professor of Oakland University and program coordinator of Asian Programs at School of Engineering and Computer Science offered a lecture on how to improve the capabilities in analyzing and solving problems and how to enhance inter-personal communication skills in the process of attending the joint-running program, such as application, learning, and living on Campus of Oakland University.
The Salon attracted over a hundred audiences. It built a platform of friendship and communication for faculties of BISTU and Oakland University and provided a greater room for future joint cultivation of students, joint academic research, and enhancement of students’ global communication competences.
