Beijing, 24th May 2024 (BISTU)--- President Forum on Leading Talents of Digital and Intelligent Technology, jointly sponsored by BISTU and Changping District Education Commission, greeted the grand opening ceremony on 24th May 2024 at Shahe Campus.  

The opening ceremony, chaired by Vice Chairman Wang Wenjie of University Council, was joined by Director Su Junshan of Changping District Education Commission, Prsident Guo Fu, Vice President Wang Xingfen, and principals of Beijing Huiwen Middle School, Beijing No.2 Middle School, Beijing No. 20 Middle School, Chaoyang School Group of Capital Normal University High School, Beijing No. 44 Middle School, Beijing Fuxuehutong Primary School, etc. Discussions were centering on cultivation of leading talents in intelligent and digital fields and mutual support for talent cultivation in primary schools, middle schools, and universities.  

Guo Fu extended warm welcome to participants of the Forum. He expressed that a common theme of our times now becomes salient that we should nurture, in a coordinated manner, the leading talents in intelligent and digital field, facing with the revolution in science and technology and the innovations in digital and intelligent technology. The Forum aimed at invigorating China through sci-tech and education and exploring the demand of the era of intelligent and digital technology. It will ignite new, innovative moves in school-local government and inter-school cooperation for nurturing talents in digital and intelligent technology. He offered an introduction to practices of the University in recent years in enhancing the quality of new-quality talents, i.e., laying focus on three-in-one key factors (education, sci-tech, and talent) and deepening integrated innovation. The Forum would serve as an opportunity for all relating schools to work together and deepen cooperation in educational system, curricula, scientific research, and talent cultivation. He added.  

Su Junshan said that Changping District has been empowering high-quality development of education through deepening educational integration and resource sharing. Based in Changping District, BISTU endeavors to nurture high-quality, innovative research talents in the field of digital and intelligent technology. It was hoped that all institutions would seize this opportunity to work together for integrated cultivation of leading talents in digital and intelligent technology. Meanwhile, Changping District Education Commission would also provide due support and contribute to high-quality development of the education cause in Beijing.  

Principal Guo Jie of Beijing Huiwen Middle School commented that Beijing Huiwen Middle School is committed to nurturing inter-disciplinary leading talents with innovative thinking, technological competence, data literacy, and security awareness. The School would work together with other members of the League to nurture innovative talents for new-quality productive forces and for the goal of building Beijing into Four Centers.  

The League for Cultivation of Leading Talents in Digital and Intelligent Technology was officially inaugurated by 13 presidents and principals of member institutions. The League aimed at strengthening the connections between higher education, secondary education, and elementary education and bringing new momentum to coordinated talent cultivation from primary school to university.  

Wang Wenjie extended warm congratulations to the League and hoped that the member institutions would strengthen cooperation to build a quality platform for school-local government cooperation and interschool cooperation.  

Themed on “Exploring demands and strengthening features to serve talent cultivation in the field of digital and intelligent technology”, Wang Xingfen delivered a report covering general information about BISTU, the future Institute of Digital and Intelligent Technology, reform of talent cultivation model, and effectiveness of talent cultivation.  

Two seminars were then held on digital technology empowering education and practices for integrated cultivation of talents of digital and intelligent technology and were joined by faculty of the member institutions.  

Facing with the revolution in digital and intelligent technology, BISTU will bear in mind the original aspiration of education, implement the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, and promote integrated development to contribute to the strategic objective of invigorating China through science and technology.
