Beijing, 17th June 2023 (BISTU)--- All three programs offered at School of Information and Communication Engineering of BISTU, previously screened out as double first-class, were listed in A series of 2023 Shanghai Ranking. Communication Engineering and Electronic Information Engineering has also been accredited by China Engineering Education Accreditation Association.
According to the university ranking published by Shanghai Ranking in 2023, Communication Engineering ranked the 45th (A series, top 8% and No. 1 among Beijing Municipality-supervised universities); Electronic Information Engineering ranked the 62nd (A series, top 9%, and No. 2 among Beijing Municipality-supervised universities), Internet of Things Engineering ranked the 55th (A series, top 9%, and No. 2 among Beijing Municipality-supervised universities). In summary, all programs offered at School of Information and Communication Engineering ranked top 10% in 2023 Shanghai Ranking. As an academic subject, Information and Communication Engineering ranked top 40% in subject ranking, a leading position among Beijing Municipality-supervised universities.
Featuring “intelligence-integrated communications”, Communication Engineering was honored as a potential state-level first-class program, a potential municipal-level key first-class program, and an outstanding educational team among Beijing Municipality-supervised universities while being listed in MOE Cultivation Plan for Outstanding Engineers. Featuring “intelligent electronic information system”, Electronic Information Engineering was a state-level feature program and a municipal-level potential first-class program with its team ranked as excellent by Beijing Municipality. Internet of Things Engineering highlighted “intelligent internet of things” and has become a potential first-class program of Beijing Municipality. The School had 4 municipal-level quality courses and textbooks, one state-level first-class module, and a first prize award in teaching achievements by Beijing Municipality. It was the only school among peer schools in the field of electronic information who has won these honors.
Recent years have witnessed a number of outstanding alumni of the School, including Cui Jixian--- outstanding contributions to early-warning aircrafts, Xu Ying--- Goddess of COMPASS, Xu Yunyou---the author of a covid-19 pandemic containment short video with over 100 million views, etc. Additionally, faculties of the School have also published 16 high level academic essays on Nature, TCOM, TVT, etc., chaired 21 state-level research projects, and won 5 important awards in science and technology. Future focus of the School would be on cultivating high quality talents of applied learning in the field of new generation information technology, artificial intelligence, high-speed broad-band communications, and intelligent city.
