Beijing, 28th November 2023 (BISTU)--- Delegation of Edinburgh Napier University headed by Stuart Easter, Director of Student Recruitment and International, visited BISTU on 27th November 2023 to strengthen cooperative ties.  

Director Qu Li of International Cooperation Department (Dean of International Education School) extended warm welcome to Edinburgh Napier University delegation. She pointed out that the University has attached great importance to cooperation with British universities and developed joint programs with a number of institutions such as Edinburgh Napier University. With strengths in information technology at Edinburgh Napier University, the cooperation would provide substantial support with students in their further studies and research. It was hoped that both institutions would build up ways forward as soon as possible and achieve new progress in faculty exchange and joint research. Qu Li offered an introduction to studying in China programs and summer cultural programs to be held in 2024. Faculties and students of Edinburgh Napier University were cordially invited to BISTU to experience and study. Qu Li said.  

Stuart Easter offered an introduction to Edinburgh Napier University and the School of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment. Edinburgh Napier University valued cooperation with Chinese institutions and BISTU remains the very first institution of Edinburgh Napier University’s visits to China. He pointed out that the two institutions had a lot in common in educational philosophies. It was hoped that the visit would deepen mutual understanding and make new progresses for cooperation. Issues concerning summer cultural program, visiting scholars, faculty exchange, and joint research would be thoroughly discussed and explored. Stuart Easter said.  

Dean Li Ning of Computer Science School introduced the School and produced advices on short term and long term student exchange, faculty exchange, and joint research projects.  

A seminar was held by Edinburgh Napier University delegation for students of School of Computer Science on cooperative program between the two institutions. Dr. Yu Yanchao, professor of computer science at Edinburgh Napier University and an alumnus of BISTU Computer Science School, was specially invited to share his study and working experiences.  

Members of Edinburgh Napier University delegation included Carina Liao, Director of China Development. Vice Dean Zhang Wei of Computer Science School and other faculties attended the meeting and the seminar.
