May 18th saw the holding of the ceremony of opening and contract signing for the off-campus practice &teaching base established in conjunction with Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory in Meeting Room No. 4 of Xiaoying Campus. Present were leaders and staff members from the units concerned, among whom were Mr. Liu Gonghui, President of BISTU; Mr. Xu Baojie, Vice President of BISTU; Mr. Liu Guanghua, Vice Director of Drill Engineering Technology Research Institute of CNPC and manager of Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory; and Mr. Zou Lianyang, assistant manager of Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory. 

Professor Xu Baojie presided over the ceremony, introducing leaders and guests. President Liu Gonghui briefed happenings since five years ago when BISTU was established, design of disciplines, and plan for the future, meanwhile showing his eagerness, expectation, and wishes for the cooperation. Mr. Liu Guanghua introduced the history of Beijing Petroleum Machinery Factory, its technological problems, and future strategies, saying that the cooperation on production and information with BISTU would boost each other’s development in their respective fields.
