Beijing, 12th April 2022 (BISTU)--- Xiaoying Campus of BISTU saw the opening of BISTU meeting on 11th April 2022 on preparation for the new round undergraduate teaching assessment. The meeting, hosted by Vice President Fang Deying, was attended by directors of General Administration Office, Academic Affairs Office, Human Resources Office, Office for Development Strategy and Planning, Financial Office, and Student Affairs Office as well as vice deans in charge of teaching at BISTU schools.
Fang Deying pointed out that the new round of undergraduate teaching assessment, as an important comprehensive tool in educational evaluation, had important implications for development of the University. He raised specific requests on the assessment. Firstly, great importance should be attached to the issue. The assessment was an opportunity for the University to further improve undergraduate education. Secondly, we should focus on locating concrete problems and producing targeted solutions. Thirdly, a deep understanding of new requirements was requested for this new round of assessment. And fourthly, interconnectivity was very much necessary, i.e., close collaboration between all BISTU schools and divisions.
Director Mi Jie of Academic Affairs Office produced a comparative analysis on indexes and requirements of the Assessment and a timetable for missions to be completed. Discussions then were held among directors of BISTU divisions and deans of BISTU schools.
The meeting was aimed at making thorough preparations for self-assessment prior to the assessment conducted by Ministry of Education. It would serve as a precious opportunity for the University to enhance reform, management and teaching while upholding the principle of quality development, categorized development, features development and innovative development.
