Beijing, 22nd May 2025 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with Xinjiang Hetian College delegation headed by President Wang Zhijian on 22nd May 2025. The two institutions conducted discussions on academic discipline building and research collaboration.

Following warm greetings to Wang Zhijian and delegation members, Guo Fu offered an introduction to BISTU in respect of educational history, campuses, faculty, and research strengths. He pointed out that BISTU, as a high-level university of applied learning with key support from Beijing Municipality, remains a top-ranking one among both municipality-administered universities of applied learning and municipality-administered science and engineering universities. Guo Fu expressed that Xinjiang Hetian College is a core partner of BISTU’s educational support program in Xinjiang. Young faculty members of BISTU dispatched to Hetian have witnessed substantial achievements. He added that BISTU will focus on core demands of Hetian College in academic discipline building, staff development, and construction of research platforms. Actual and practical measures would be taken to bring new momentum into high-quality development of Xinjiang Hetian College. Guo Fu said.

Wang Zhijian expressed thanks to long-lasting support of BISTU and offered an introduction to the College in respect of educational history, faculty members, admissions, and research achievements. He pointed out that visit to BISTU is aimed at enhancing communication and exchanges between the two institutions and promoting modern governance at the College. He noted that Hetian College needs support from BISTU in coordination among second-tier schools, enhancement of governance performance, introduction of talents, and academic research. A variety of cooperative forms could be adopted. He added.

Discussions were conducted centering on team building, social practices for students, development of academic disciplines, research collaboration, etc.

Prior to the meeting, Vice President Zhang Jian accompanied Wang Zhijian and delegation members in the visit to one-stop student community, university library, and exhibition of research findings.

Hetian College delegation members included Vice President Zhang Zengtian and directors of Department of Faculty Affairs, Department of Development and Planning, etc. The meeting and discussions were also attended by BISTU faculty members, including directors and deans of the President’s Office, Human Resources Department, Department of Faculty Affairs, Department of Development and Planning, External Liaison Office, Office of Alumni Services, College of Automation (College of Artificial Intelligence), and College of Computer Science.
