Beijing, 20th April, 2015(BISTU)--- Cooperation between BISTU and UAS Jena is further consolidated and pushed forward on the meeting between Vice President Xu Baojie and UAS Jena delegation headed by Prof. Martin Garzke, Dean of School of Machinery. Issues including course mapping and credit transfer are fully discussed. The discussion is also attended by Prof. Wang Xingfen, Director of Academic Affairs Office, Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, and Prof. Huang Min, Dean of School of Electromechanical Engineering.

UAS Jena has been working together with School of Electromechanical Engineering for a long time. Recent years saw explorations and discussion on a series of new collaborative programmes. In addition to some traditional programmes, dual degrees programme and bachelor to master programme was added in 2013. By now over 60 BISTU students have studied with UAS Jena and ten attended dual degrees programme.
Following his warmest welcome to Germany friends from afar, Vice President Xu Baojie extends his thanks to UAS Jena for the kind care with BISTU students. The smooth progress of cooperation ensures fruitful exchange activities. It is hoped that in the future more opportunities could be offered to students to further consolidated cooperation. Said Xu Baojie.
Prof. Garzke briefs on living and studying of BISTU students at UAS Jena. He pointed out that language is the major obstacle on current stage. And to some extent, relatively low German proficiency influences students on learning specialty knowledge. It is suggested BISTU offer more German course to equip students with better language skills before going to Germany so as to help them successfully complete their studies.

After the meeting, Dean Huang Min hosts the discussion on issues regarding dual degrees programme, including duration of studies, course mapping, credit transfer, and graduation project, etc.
A meeting with students is also organized the same day, hosted by Dean Garzke. Details on the exchange programme are fully explained and questions on exchange are also answered by UAS Jena delegation.
