Beijing, 31st May, 2016(BISTU)--- BISTU School of Economics and Management extends warmest welcome to members of Bowling Green State University Delegation, including Prof. Raymond Braun, Dean of College of Business Administration and Vice Dean Prof. Zubair Mohammed, Department Chair Bai-Yua(Arthur)Yeh, and Prof. Li Mingsheng. BISTU Vice President Xu Baojie met with the guests and discussed relating issues of cooperation between the two institutions. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Wang Xingfen, Academic Affairs Office Director and Dean of International Education School, Vice Dean Qu Li of School of Economics and Management, Vice Department Chair of Financial Investment Wang Hui, Yan Rui, and Ms. Zhang Ya of International Cooperation Department.

Following his warmest regards, Xu Baojie pointed out that substantial progress has been made to Sino-US relations in 2016 and academic exchange and cooperation between institutions of the two countries have contributed greatly to relations between the two countries. Sharing a lot in common, the Business Administration College and BISTU are jointly expanding and deepening the cooperation in a variety of ways.

Prof. Raymond Braun expressed thanks to warm reception of BISTU and positively commented on the necessity of conducting international cooperation in various areas of education. He hopes that in the future an even closer tie between the two universities could be established to offer more opportunities for BISTU students to learn about US universities and their campus culture.

Prof. Wang Xingfen offered introduction to undergraduate teaching and studying in China programs at BISTU. She said that students of Business Administration College are welcome to studying with BISTU. Qu Li also introduced the School of Economics and Management.

The two institutions then discussed cooperative education projects and explored details on next stage. Issues on AACSB of BISTU’s programs were also examined on the meeting.
After the meeting, Xu Baojie met with distinguished guests attending Big Data Business Analysis International Symposium, including Head of IBM Research China Dr. Shen Xiaowei, Prof. Wang Kaibo of Tsinghua University, and General Manager Lei Xilin of Zhongjihualian Mechatronics Science and Technology Co. Ltd. and extended sincere thanks for their generous support with research and field teaching at BISTU.

The Symposium was in two parts, the first of which hosted by Qu Li welcomed keynote speeches delivered by famous experts, including Dr. Shen Xiaowei’s From Big Data to Cognitive Computing, Prof. Wang Kaibo’s Data Analytics for Quality Excellence in China, Prof. Arthur Yeh’s The Outlook of Education in Data Science, and Cui Yu’s Knowledge management change in the era of big data.

The second part, hosted by Prof. Wang Xingfen, saw invited guests and young faculties from Beijing Institute of Technology, Central University of Finance and Economics, and China University of Mining and Technology Beijing. Discussions were centered on Research Progress with Big Data and Applied Research in Corporations. Guo Ying shared her research achievement--- A Systematic Method for Technology Assessment: Illustrated for Big Data. Pang Tao, CEO of Beijing Navroom Co. Ltd., exchanged ideas with others on big data application. And Wang Xingfen shared her research achievement in Big Data-based Supportive System on Teaching Management.
