Appointment Ceremony for Prof. Tan Yuejin as Guest Professor Held at School of Information Management

 

Beijing, 12th January 2023 (BISTU)--- The ceremony on appointing Prof. Tan Yuejin as a guest professor was held at Xiaoying Campus by School of Information Management on 9th January 2023. Chaired by Dean Wang Hongjun of the School, the Ceremony was attended by Prof. Tan Yuejin from National University of Defense Technology, Executive Vice Dean Wang Xingfen of Postgraduate School, Secretary Chen Bing of Information Management Commission of CPC BISTU Committee, Vice Dean Wang Lei and Vice Dean Kang Haiyan of the School, Students Affairs Director Han Congyu of the School, Professor Zhao Gang, and Director Zhu Yu of General Administration Office of the School.  

Prof. Tan Yuejin, Ph.D. supervisor in Management Science and Engineering at National University of Defense Technology, is currently Deputy Director of Teaching Steering Committee for Management Science and Engineering of Ministry of Education. He was Vice President of Society of Management Science and Engineering of China, Dean of Information System and Management School of National University of Defense Technology, and a winner of the honor “national teacher of excellence” in 2019. He has long been working in the field of management science and engineering, chaired a number of state-level key projects, and won a series of provincial-level awards for science and technology progresses. In addition to working as the chairman for drafting the teaching standard for the undergraduate program Big Data Management and Application, he is the principal lecturer for System Engineering Principles, a module for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The books he edited have been granted second prize of state level.  

  

Following warm welcome to Prof. Tan Yuejin, Wang Hongjun produced an introduction to strengths and future planning of the School, with focus on reasonable layout of academic disciplines, high quality development of research projects, and innovations made in undergraduate teaching. Tan Yuejin offered positive comments on current progresses of the School and proposed some constructive suggestions with regard to academic discipline development, academic research, project sponsorship, talent cultivation, etc. Chen Bing concluded that the appointment of Prof. Tan Yuejin as a guest professor would boost the progress of the School in getting approval of doctoral programs and improving quality of talent cultivation.
