Vice Mayor Yu Yingjie Conducted Survey at BISTU
President Guo Fu made an introduction to the platform of intelligent teaching, the digital, interactive, multi-faceted teaching models, and achievements and practices of the University in empowering “comprehensive talent cultivation” through integration of information technology and education based on “intelligent campus”.
Yu Yingjie surveyed safety monitoring system of the University and learned about safety and security measures on campus. Promotion of intelligent support in campus safety and security is necessary, he said. Then he visited the one-stop student community and one-stop student service hall. It is important to bring various elements on campus into full play in political and ideological education so as to enhance effectiveness of talent cultivation. He added.
In the seminar followed, Chairman Xie Jiangling and President Guo Fu extended sincere gratitude to Beijing Municipality for the long-standing care and support with the University. Xie Jiangling delivered a report on the University in respect of high-quality development guided by high-quality party building, cultivation of outstanding talents of innovation, and services for national and municipal development strategy. President Guo Fu added supplementary explanation on strategic planning of the University.
Yu Yingjie positively affirmed the achievements that BISTU has achieved. He pointed out that firstly the overall leadership of the Party in all matters should be strengthened. High-quality development should be guided by high-quality party building. Second, the fundamental guideline of fostering virtue through education should be firmly implemented to build a high-quality faculty team and to enhance the quality of talent cultivation. Third, it is necessary for the University to strengthen in-depth integration of industry, learning, research, and application to meet the demand of national strategic development and social and economic development of Beijing. And fourth, it is necessary to establish a security-based development philosophy to build a safe campus for faculty and students. He expected that BISTU would advance the cause of building a high level university with distinctive feature in information technology to make BISTU-featured contributions to high-quality development of Beijing in the new era.
The survey was also joined by Director Liu Zhongxin of General Administration Office of Municipal Education Working Committee, Director Li Shunchao of Information Center of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and senior administrators of BISTU.
