Beijing, 21st June 2023 (BISTU)--- Agreement signing ceremony between BISTU and Nanyang Institute of Technology was held on 21st June 2023 at Taihanglu Campus. The ceremony, chaired by Vice President Fang Deying, was attended by Secretary Wang Chuanliang of CPC BISTU Committee and Assistant to VP Lin Guoce of BISTU, President An Shiwei and Vice President Zhang Aihong of Nanyang Institute of Technology, and directors of related divisions and offices of the two institutions.
Wang Chuanliang addressed the signing ceremony. He reviewed the achievements the two institutions have made in respect of talent cultivation, academic discipline development, academic research, and administration since the first cooperative agreement was signed in 2017, followed by an introduction to BISTU including revolutionary traditions, glories and achievements in the past 86 years, construction and relocation of the New Campus, approval of doctoral programs, new breakthroughs in teaching and research, gaining support from both Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Beijing Municipality, achievements in high precision, advanced field, and high quality employment of students. It was expected that BISTU and Nanyang Institute of Technology would continue to deepen cooperative relations to make greater contributions to development of higher education in the New Era. Wang Chuanliang said.
An Shiwei offered an introduction to Nanyang Institute of Technology in respect of achievements in recent years in teaching and research and extended thanks to BISTU for the support in providing secondment positions, faculty exchange, students exchange, and academic cooperation. He commented that the two institutions have made evident progresses in cooperation and established long-lasting friendship. He hoped that collaboration between the two institutions would be deepened and expanded to organizational development for grass-root party organizations, exchange of master degree supervisors, mutual support for some programs, and joint research in high level projects.
The cooperative agreement was signed by Fang Deying and Zhang Aihong on behalf of their respective universities.
Director Qu Li of International Cooperation Department (Director of Office for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs) shared BISTU experiences in Sino-foreign joint running programs and offered an explanation on international exchange system, cooperation with overseas universities, cooperation with research institutes, faculties and students going abroad, introduction of international talents, and international students education. Detailed discussions were also held on students exchange, credit transfer, and cooperative internationalization in education.
