Beijing, 26th October 2023 (BISTU)--- BISTU celebrated the opening ceremony of Achievements Exhibition & Science and Technology Innovation Festival on 25th October 2023 at Shahe Campus. The ceremony was attended by by First-tier Inspector Yue Hongzhi of Beijing Municipal Association for Science and Technology, Second-tier Inspector Liu Bingquan of Beijing Municipal Committee of Communist Youth League of China, Chairlady Li Xuehong of Changping District Association for Science and Technology (Vice Chairlady of the CPPCC Changping District Committee), Secretary Xie Jiangling of CPC BISTU Committee, and President Guo Fu.  

Yue Hongzhi, Liu Bingquan, Li Xuehong, Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu presented awards to winners of important competitions such as Challenge Cup, Internet Plus, etc. and their supervisors and schools.  

The Science and Technology Innovation Festival was an important platform to display achievements of BISTU in science and technology innovation and to promote sci-tech innovation education. Themed on “Sci-tech for intelligent future, Innovation in everyday life”, the Festival would last for three months featuring 25 events held by 16 divisions and schools of the University covering all faculties and students in five campuses.  

Vice President Wang Xingfen extended warm congratulations to the opening ceremony of 7th Science and Technology Innovation Festival. She reviewed the outstanding achievements of the University in various key competitions such as Challenge Cup, Internet Plus, etc. and hoped that students and faculties of BISTU would take the opportunity of this science and technology innovation festival to make further progresses.  

Experiences on scientific thinking &the spirit of science and the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship education were shared respectively by faculty representative He Yanlin of School of Instrumentation Science and Opto-electronic Engineering and student representative Shang Jiaqi of BISTU Association of Academics and Science & Technology.  

Prof. Zhang Yangsen of Information Management School and Associate Researcher Zuo Yunbo of Electromechanical Engineering School respectively signed agreements on commercialization of research achievements with enterprise representatives.  

The opening ceremony was followed by a visit to the science and technology innovation achievement exhibition.  

The exhibition saw displays of 12 teams with their objects and 80-odd teams with their copywriting boards. Applauses were won by real-time interaction between i-baby and visitors, youth vitality of BISTUers displayed by BISTU-Rabbit--- a 3-dimension dynamic virtual mascot, application of underwater robot developed by G_Robot in real life scenarios, and the football game performance by Water--- a prize winner robot football team.  

Future endeavors would be invested in building up the brand for campus-based science and technology innovation festival, the model of talent cultivation in respect of science and technology innovation, and cultivation of preeminent talents to boost high quality development of the University.  

The opening ceremony was chaired by Deputy Secretary Wang Wenjie of CPC BISTU Committee and attended by Vice President Chen Xin, Vice President Xiao Zhisong, Director Du Shizhi of Publicity Department (member of the standing committee of CPC BISTU Committee), directors of BISTU divisions and offices, deans and secretaries of BISTU schools, and representatives of faculties and students.
