Beijing, 10th November 2023 (BISTU)--- 2023 National Young Scholar Forum for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, together with the 10th North China Five Provinces University Students Robotics Competition, was successfully organized at BISTU on 5th November 2023. The Forum was sponsored by Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence (CAAI)and co-organized by Membership Working Committee of CAAI, Young People Working Committee of CAAI, BISTU, and Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT). Executive chairmen were Vice Dean Chen Wenbai of BISTU School of Automation (council member of CAAI) and Professor Liu Xuejun (Deputy Secretary-in-Chief of Membership Working Committee of CAAI).
Upon invitation, Deputy Secretary-in-Chief Ma Nan of CAAI and Vice President Xiao Zhisong attended and addressed the Forum. Vice President Wang Xingfen attended the forum and discussions and presented commemorative plaques to keynote speakers. Dean Fan Junfang of BISTU Automation School offered an introduction to the School and explained the demand of talents in the field of artificial intelligence and robot. The opening ceremony was hosted by Chen Wenbai.

Reports and speeches on digital life, visually promoted models, security of data and AI system, edge computing, hypergraph computing, knowledge service in intelligent agriculture, and recognition and learning patterns for home service robots were respectively delivered by President Wang Yuanzhuo of Zhongke Big Data Academy (Ph.D. supervisor of Institute of Computing Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences), Vice Dean Lu Jiwen of Department of Automation at Tsinghua University (winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars), Director Shen Chao of Talent Affairs Office at Xi’an Jiaotong University (Yangtze River Scholar), Deputy Director Zeng Deze of Hubei Key Laboratory of Intelligent Geo-Information Processing at China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) (Ph.D. supervisor), Vice Dean Peng Haipeng of School of Cyberspace Security at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (Ph.D. supervisor), Associate Professor Gao Yue (tenured associate professor at Tsinghua University), Vice President Ji Xiangting of Department of Higher Educational Institution Cooperation of Baidu (Vice Chair of Engineering Education Commission of China Association of Higher Education), Associate Professor Chen Qili of BISTU (Member of Popular Sciences Commission of CAAI), and Prof. Wu Peiliang of Yanshan University (member of standing committee of Young People Working Committee of CAAI).
The forum attracted outstanding experts and young scholars in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics and built a platform of exchange and cooperation for strategic development, talent cultivation, and academic research. It also provided faculties and students of BISTU a valuable opportunity to keep pace with the latest progresses home and abroad while further enhancing BISTU’s influence and reputation in artificial intelligence and robotics.
