Beijing, 15th December 2023 (BISTU)--- Ms. Yeh Ya-wei, Deputy Director of Cross-strait Affairs Office of Taiwan Chinese Culture University, visited BISTU to explore ties and met with Vice President Xiao Zhisong at Shahe Campus on 15th December 2023.  

On behalf of the University, Xiao Zhisong extended warmest welcome to Chinese Culture University delegation and offered an introduction to BISTU. Xiao Zhisong stressed that education should be people-centered and education should be integrated in everyday life of learning with culture as the carrier. It is a collective choice of people on both sides of the strait that we are to carry forward fine traditional Chinese culture and bring the guiding role of Chinese culture in the world into full play. BISTU looked forward to working together with higher educational institutions in Taiwan to jointly promote Chinese culture. BISTU has distinctive feature and strong academic strengths in information technology and we were expecting in-depth collaboration in academic exchange and research projects. Xiao Zhisong said.  

Following an introduction to Chinese Culture University and possible areas of cooperation in the future, Ms. Yeh Ya-wei expressed that Chinese Culture University was committed to carrying forward traditional Chinese culture and promoting cross-strait educational exchange and cooperation. As of now it has established educational cooperative links with around 200 universities in the mainland. It was hoped that the visit would deepen mutual understanding and lay a solid foundation for future cooperation.  

Both parties held discussions on specific matters concerning cooperation, i.e., long and short-term student exchange, joint cultivation of postgraduate students, etc.
