Beijing, 25th May 2024 (BISTU)--- The five-day online training from 20th to 24th May 2024 jointly organized by BISTU and Illinois Institute of Technology successfully completed, aiming at improving educational globalization and enhancing competence of faculty. The training was offered by Marla Walkman, Director of International Enroll Management at Armour College of Engineering, Dr. Georgia Papavasiliou, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Admissions, Promila Dhar, Associate Chair of Undergraduate Affairs, and Victor Perez-Luna, Director of Undergraduate Affairs.
Vice President Xiao Zhisong addressed the opening ceremony. He expressed that Illinois Tech, with its long history and great development momentum, is an outstanding institution. BISTU attached great importance to cooperation between the two universities. It was expected that faculty attending the training would value this opportunity to strengthen their teaching competence and global awareness.
Feng Wendi of Computer Science School delivered a speech on behalf of all trainees.
The training covered a wide spectrum of topics, including curricula, teaching methodology, marking system, etc. It combined theories with practices, along with the experiences of Illinois Tech in encouraging technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
Educational philosophies and teaching methodology of faculty were updated through training. And they have learned more about ABET accreditation. While expanding global horizon of faculty and staff, the training also laid a solid foundation for constant improvement of talent cultivation at the University.
The trainees included faculty and staff of Academic Affairs Office, International Cooperation Department, School of Electromechanical Engineering, School of Automation, and School of Computer Science.
