Xiyuan Hospital of CACMS Visited BISTU

Beijing, 19th June 2025 (BISTU)--- Delegation of Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) headed by Chairperson Li Qiuyan of the Hospital Council visited BISTU on 18th June 2025. President Guo Fu met with the delegation and hosted the seminar on cooperation between the two institutions.

Guo Fu extended warm welcome to Li Qiuyan and delegation members and spoke highly of the role that Xiyuan Hospital has played in promoting Chinese medical sciences. He offered a brief introduction to BISTU in educational features and research strengths, focusing on innovative explorations and achievements of the University in artificial intelligence, big data, and intelligent instrument and equipment. The visit would facilitate strategic cooperation between the two institutions in medical sciences and engineering. He said.

Li Qiuyan spoke highly of the achievements that BISTU has made in school-running and academic research. She pointed out that honoring the past and inventing the future requires empowerment from modern science and technology. Academic strengths and frontier research of BISTU are in high alignment with clinic demand of Xiyuan Hospital. It is expected that “digitelligent Chinese medical sciences” would be achieved with joint efforts from both institutions.

Vice President Chen Xin suggested that both institutions could establish a joint lab of “digitelligent Chinese medical sciences” to promote resource sharing. Vice President Wang Xingfen stressed that development of informationization of Chinese medical sciences could be strengthened based on researches conducted in BISTU Empowerment Center for Digital Transformation of Small and Medium Enterprises.

Director Cheng Jin of BISTU Office for Industry-Education Integration offered an introduction to innovative achievements of the University. Deputy Director Fu Changgeng of Department of Research of Xiyuan Hospital explained research strengths of the Hospital and core demands for modernization of Chinese medical sciences. Both institutions reached consent on cooperation in the field of intelligent diagnosis and treatment, health data mining, and precision health intervention.

Li Qiuyan and delegation members visited the campuses, exhibition of research projects, and the university library. A meeting of coordination concerning future cooperation was held centering on research demands raised by Xiyuan Hospital.

The meeting and discussions were attended by directors of administrative and clinical departments of Xiyuan Hospital as well as directors, deans, and faculty members of BISTU Office for Industry-Education Integration, Empowerment Center for Digital Transformation of Small and Medium Enterprises, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, College of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, College of Computer Science, etc.
