As a feature action plan, rural revitalization was initiated by Education Working Committee of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Municipal Educational Commission in June 2022. It has become the rural revitalization action plan with the largest number of participating universities and the largest number of teams. BISTU has recommended three teams to the Action Plan and finally two became award winners. Since the projects were officially approved, Department of Publicity has provided guidance and opportunities for display of achievements that the teams have made in practices of rural revitalization.

Introduction to award winning teams

First prize winner: Intelligent Fishpond- Informationization of Aquaculture and Agriculture

Supervisor: Associate Professor Liu Qiong of School of Automation

Team members: Zhang Shizhuo; Chen Wenbai; Chen Qili; Liu Huixiang; Wu Xibao; Liu Jia; Li Guangrui; Fu Pingan; Zhang Yiqing; Li Muyang; Zhang Xinyao; Bao Zhongman; Chen Linxin; Deng Yacheng; Hu Mingyue.

The team came to Zhanmaohu Village, Xidongting District of Changde City, known as a land of fish and rice to the south of Yangtze River. Facing with the problems of high requirement of fish on quality of water, efficiency per capita being low, and lack of real-time monitoring means, the Team worked very hard and finally built a model of intelligent fishpond. Later efforts were invested in perfection of the system in respect of multi-index monitoring, underwater patrol, portable management, one-button control, etc. Efficiency has been constantly improved. As of now, the system could conduct round-the-clock monitoring and early warning. Team members also hosted two seminars on intelligent fishpond for local farmers and delivered a technological report for over 70 technicians of Dabei Nonghuayou Aquaculture Group themed on Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Argiculture.

Team members: Pan Mengmeng; Huang Zhengjun; Pan Shuo; Ye Lingbo; Yang Yuli; Yang Hao; Liu Shengfa.

The team conducted observations at Shandong Zibo Qihe Biotechnology Company, Hebei Chengde Fungi Planting Base, and a Fungi Planting Base in Longcheng District of Chaoyang in Liaoning Province. A theme activity was organized together with Chaoyang on Science and Technology empowering rural revitalization, in addition to a series of reports on agricultural technology. They informed local farmers of the importance and desirability of refrigerated storage, automated production line, solar voltaic technology, and informationization of greenhouse. Based on the demand of auto-mushroom-picking, the team developed an automated robot for picking bamboo fungi in a low-cost, efficient manner. The sample machine has been recognized.
