Bangkok Thonburi University Delegation Visited BISTU

Beijing, 10th April 2025 (BISTU)--- Vice President Xiao Zhisong met with Bangkok Thonburi University delegation headed by Chuchat Sapsutthiphon, Assistant to the President, on 10th April 2025. Both institutions reached consensus on joint-running Thailand-based undergraduate programs.

Xiao Zhisong extended warm welcome to the delegation. He stressed that the University has been sparing no efforts to enhancing the quality of educational globalization. He pointed out that the year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, indicating new historical opportunities for bilateral cooperation and cultural exchanges. Following the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the two institutions, BISTU has greeted a number of outstanding students from Bangkok Thonburi University for short-term study tours. Both universities could have a lot to explore in further cooperation. The joint-running Thailand-based undergraduate programs are expected to embrace a variety of educational models. Sustainable development of Thailand-based programs hopefully would be strengthened. He added.

Chuchat Sapsutthiphon expressed thanks to the warm reception and spoke highly of the achievements that BISTU has made in science-education integration and educational globalization. Bangkok Thonburi Universityhas been committed to nurturing innovative talents with global competence in a globalized context. China and Thailand are interlinked in cultures and development. Educational cooperation then will serve as both the hub of communication and a strategic fulcrum of regional coordinated innovation. He hoped that both universities seize the opportunity provided by the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand, strengthen cooperation, and bring new momentum to high-quality development of regional economy.

Both institutions reached consensus on detailed matters concerning cooperation, including concrete programs, sizes of student intake, model of cultivation, curricula, staff and faculty, and degrees to be awarded.

The meeting and discussions were also attended by director and deans of BISTU Department of International Affairs and College of International Education.
