Beijing, 24th August, 2021 (BISTU)—  BISTU delegation headed by President Wang Yongsheng conducts survey at Beijing Economic Technological Area (BDA) and meets with Secretary Wang Shaofeng of CPC BDA Committee, Deputy Secretary Zhang Jihong of CPC BDA Committee, and Deputy Director Liu Li of BDA. Members of BISTU delegation also includes Vice President Yu Shijie, Vice President Zhang Lin and Vice President Chen Xin.  

Wang Yongsheng offers a detailed introduction to BISTU in respect of historical development and current achievements. He points out that BISTU, as an institution substantially supported by Beijing and one with distinctive features in information technology, is incumbent on serving building Beijing as “four Centers”, particularly as the center of international innovation for science and technology. BDA is the major platform for international science and technology innovation and is now trying to build an innovative industrial cluster with global influence. It is hoped that two institutions would strengthen communication and cooperation so as to make joint contribution to social and economic development of Beijing.  

Wang Shaofeng extends warm welcome to BISTU delegation and points out that BISTU has a long history in education with rich achievements in research and distinctive features in information technology. In building an international platform for science and technology innovation, BDA needs support from academic institutions in respect of talents and technology. It is hoped that both parties will conduct collaboration in the area of commercialization of research projects, building innovation center, school-enterprise cooperation, employment of graduating students, talent cultivation, and continuing education.  

Liu Li introduces development and recent progress with BDA and both institutions exchange and communicate on commercialization of research projects, talent cultivation, school-enterprise cooperation, and teaching-industry integration.  

The meeting and discussion are also attended by Director Chen Jianmin of BDA General Administration Office, Director Jin Guangze of Department of Science and Technology Innovation of BDA, Director Ren Mingchen of Social Issue Department of BDA as well as BISTU faculties including Director Jia Bin of General Administration Office, Director Mi Jie of Academic Affairs’ Office, Director Zhang Jian of Division of Science and Technology, Executive Vice Dean Wang Xingfen of Postgraduate School, and Director Liu Guili of Office for Industries and Productive Assets Management.
