Beijing, 6th April, 2018 (BISTU)— BISTU’s application on establishing a new first-tier master program (Cyberspace Security) and rescission of the first-tier master program (Software Engineering) has been approved, as is list in a notice published by Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council (in the following tables).

According to the notice published by Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council on newly opened master and doctoral programs, BISTU has two new master programs: News and Communication and Accounting.
The University attaches great importance to adjustment of first-tier disciplines and new added master programs. With support from the University senior administration, Postgraduate School and relating schools organized a number of argumentation and confirmation meetings. Particularly the first-tier master program Cyberspace Security is greatly supported and coordinated by School of Computer Science. These new first-tier disciplines and master programs will be open to new students in 2019.

BISTU has 14 first-tier disciplines offering master programs so far, covering five major subjects--- Engineering, Management, Science, Economics, and Law. Currently, the University also has been entitled to grant master degrees in Master of Engineering, MBA, Master of News and Communication, and Master of Accounting.
