Beijing, 12th October, 2016 (BISTU)--- Vice President Xu Baojie met with Budapest Metropolitan University (MET) delegation led by Ms. Denissza Blanar, International Director of the University and St. Mary’s College delegation led by Mr. B. Mahender Reddy, Director- SMES, Management Representative.

Xu Baojie extended warmest welcome to visiting delegations and introduced about BISTU. He pointed out that it remains a strategic focus for BISTU to educate students in their innovation competence and encourage them go global. Exploration of partnership with MET and St. Mary expanded spectrum of BISTU international cooperation.
Denissza Blanar offered an introduction to MET. The University’s international students, from 84 countries of the world, account for 10% of the total. It has established partnership with a number of world famous enterprises, which offers plenty of opportunities for students’ internship and practice. Over half of the students, while in internship, have been accepted by the enterprises they work for. In addition to academic scholarship and enterprise scholars, the University also established entrepreneurship scholarship and innovation scholarship.
B. Mahender Reddy mentioned that St. Mary’s College belongs to St. Mary Education Society, a whole educational system covering kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, colleges, and postgraduate education. It has established friendly links with institutions in the U.S. and Hungary. St. Mary’s College is located in Hyderabad, the sixth largest city and information technology center of India. It is also a city where internet tycoons like Microsoft and Facebook set up their branches. The College enjoys tremendous educational and geographical advantages.
Denissza Blanar expressed that MET would apply for China-EU Students Exchange Scholarship to encourage students to come and study with BISTU. B. Mahender Reddy, based on discussion of fast-changing development of information science and technology and actual demand of BISTU development, said the College would like to work with BISTU to design exchange programs suitable for BISTU students.
Similarities have been located between BISTU and the two institutions and it is expected that cooperation could be conducted in a wider spectrum. BISTU will encourage undergraduate and postgraduate students to study with MET and St. Mary’s College. The short-term exchange projects are believed to lay solid foundation for future, long-term degree programs. On due course, BISTU will send delegations to the two institutions to discussion on further cooperation.
The meeting and discussion was also attended by Dr. Lu Jing, Director of International Cooperation Department, Prof. Ge Xinquan, Dean of Economics and Management School, Prof. Yang Kongyu, Dean of Media and Public Administration School, and Michael Sapp, Vice Dean of International Education School.
