Beijing, 17th April 2026 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu visited the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Xi’an Jiaotong University, and Xidian University, aiming to deepen inter-university collaboration and improve talent cultivation, academic discipline building, and scientific and technological innovation. President Guo Fu also unveiled BISTU Innovative Research Institute in Luyang District of Hefei.

Guo Fu visited the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and met with President Hu Jun and Vice President Luo Guangchun on 13th April 2026.

Guo Fu commented that the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, as a leading institution in information technology, could provide highly valuable experiences in academic discipline building, talent cultivation, and commercialization of research findings. It was hoped that both institutions would deepen cooperation in respect of joint cultivation of talents, cross-disciplinary research, and coordinated research for mutual benefits.

Luo Guangchun offered an introduction to the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in historical development, academic disciplines, talent cultivation, research strengths, etc. and shared practices and experiences of the University in talent cultivation model, AI plus curricula, operation of Science Park, and development planning for instrument science and technology.

Both institutions conducted in-depth discussion on nurturing outstanding talents, AI education, cross-disciplinary cultivation, etc.

Guo Fu and BISTU delegation members visited National Engineering Research Center of Electromagnetic Radiation Control Materials and National Innovation Platform for the Fusion of Industry and Education in Integrated Circuits.

Both parties agreed to consolidate the foundation for long-term effective cooperation.

On 14th April 2026, Guo Fu visited Xi’an Jiaotong University and met with President Zhang Liqun and Vice Chairman Sun Zao of the University Council.

Guo Fu Xi'an Jiaotong University has a rich heritage and is proud of its outstanding achievements. The practices and experiences of Xi’an Jiaotong University in academic discipline building and industry-learning-research fusion have provided valuable reference for BISTU. It was expected that the two institutions would work together in teaching reform and scientific and technological innovation to achieve mutual beneficial development.

Sun Zao explained history of the University, the ‌Westward Relocation Spirit‌, talent cultivation, industry-learning-research fusion, and the strategy of serving our nation. Director Ma Xiaobin of Department of Policy Research explained general guideline, objectives, and missions concerning the 15th Five Year Plan of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

BISTU delegation visited Jiaotong University Westward Relocation Museum and learned about historical development and rich heritage of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Guo Fu and Zhang Liqun expressed that both institutions agreed to work together for enhancement of future exchange and cooperation.

Guo Fu visited Xidian University on 14th April 2024 and met with Chairperson Ren Xiaolong of the University Council and Vice President Zhang Jincheng.

Guo Fu expressed that both universities share common missions of serving our nation and promoting development of information technology. It was hoped that both universities would deepen cooperation in academic discipline building, intelligent education, and talent cultivation to make greater contributions to our nation. He added.

Ren Xiaolong offered an introduction to Xidian University in respect of historical development, educational features, academic strengths, and development prospect. Both parties conducted discussion on development planning, academic discipline building, and reform of curricula.

Guo Fu and BISTU delegation members visited the exhibition of research achievements, AI plus Education Center, etc. prior to the talk.

Both parties agreed to build closer inter-school relations and jointly work for future development.

Guo Fu attended the unveiling ceremony for BISTU Innovation Research Institute. The ceremony was joined by Secretary Gao Qiang of Luyang District Committee, Director Shen Bing of Luyang Economic Development Zone, Vice Mayor Kang Zhenji of Luyang District, Chairman Lv Yong and General Manager of Anhui Raycon-Tech, Vice President Zhang Jian of BISTU, etc.

Guo Fu expressed that BISTU Innovation Research Institute aims to strengthen innovation, industry-education fusion, and school-local government cooperation. The University would spare no efforts to supporting regional high-quality development.

Gao Qiang commented that Luyang District is now on a crucial stage of emerging industry development. Launching of the Institute symbolized a new phase of collaboration and a bright prospect for commercialization of research findings.

Lv Yong added that local companies would fully utilize academic and political resources to promote technological development.

The visits and unveiling ceremony were also attended by directors and deans of BISTU President’s Office, Department of Development Strategy and Planning, Department of Academic Affairs, the Graduate School, External Liaison Office, Office of Alumni Services, Office of Industry Education Fusion, College of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, College of Information and Communication Engineering, and College of Computer Science.
