Beijing, 21st April 2026 (BISTU)--- BISTU delegation headed by Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council and President Guo Fu visited Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology and met with Chairperson Chen Gang and President Xiao Zhisong of the Institute.

Xie Jiangling expressed thanks to the warm reception and produced an introduction to BISTU. Following the general development philosophy of “elevating image, strengthening cohesion, providing better service, and boosting development”, BISTU has made rapid progresses in ecological development of academic disciplines, talent cultivation, sci-tech innovation, commercialization of research findings, and social service. He added that Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology has salient strengths in biological pharmacy, security engineering, and opto-mechatronic equipment. Both institutions are administered by Beijing Municipality and are shouldering the responsibility of serving municipal development. It was hoped that the two institutions would deepen collaboration and make joint contributions to national and municipal development.

Chen Gang extended warm welcome to BISTU delegation and offered an introduction to Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology in respect of historical development, academic discipline building, talent cultivation, academic research, and staff development. He stressed that the Institute has been strengthening its feature in engineering and endeavoring to build a high-level university of applied learning with distinctive characteristics. Chen Gang added that BISTU has achieved leapfrog development in building cross-disciplinary platforms and obtaining approval of doctoral programs. It was expected that both universities would continue to expand spectrum of collaboration and establish a long-lasting mechanism of communication to achieve win-win cooperation.

Guo Fu and Xiao Zhisong agreed that both institutions should be rooted in their respective strengths and characteristics to deepen collaboration and provide high-quality service for municipal and national social economic development.

Both universities conducted discussions on inter-school cooperation, academic discipline building, talent cultivation, etc.

BISTU delegation visited a series of laboratories of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, including biopharmaceutical laboratory, Beijing Key Laboratory of Opto-Mechatronic Equipment Technology, etc.

The event was joined by Vice Chairperson Lei Jing, Vice President Zhang Quanli, Director Li Linqin of Organizational Department of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology and Vice Chairperson Wang Wenjie and Vice President Wang Xingfen of BISTU.
