Beijing, 12th May 2026 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with the delegation of Tajikistan’s telecommunications industry at BISTU on 12th May 2026. In-depth discussions were held on building a joint institution on telecommunications, strengthening joint talent cultivation, and promoting academic research cooperation.

Guo Fu extended warm welcome to Tajikistan delegation and offered an introduction to BISTU emphasizing explorations and achievements of the University in educational globalization, AI-empowered teaching and research, etc. The Tajikistan telecommunications industry delegation accompanied President EmomaliRahmon on his visit to China and came to BISTU to negotiate collaboration on industry-education integration. It fully reflected the recognition of our university's academic and operational capabilities. Guo Fu added that strengths and features of the University in telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and cyber security have been further consolidated via Sino-foreign joint running institutions and programs. BISTU would strive to make the bilateral cooperation a landmark achievement in educational exchange and cooperation between China and Tajikistan.

General Manager Abdusattorzoda Bakhtovar of Tajiktelecom Open Joint-Stock Company extended thanks to the warm reception. He reiterated the intentions of cooperation with BISTU. High-quality professional were urgently needed for telecommunications industry in Tajikistan. And it was hoped that advanced technology and equipment would be introduced to nurture high-level technicians. The Company would like to establish long-lasting, future-oriented cooperative links to promote development of Tajikistan digital industry. He added.

Dean Li Xuehua of College of Information and Communication Engineering offered an introduction to the College. The delegation visited labs of the College and observed talent cultivation model, field-teaching system, and teaching facilities.

The event was also joined by directors and deans of Global Affairs Office, College of International Education, and College of Information and Communication Engineering.
