
Beijing, 18th May 2026 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with President Dong Hwan Kim of Seoul National University of Science and Technology on 18th May 2026. The two universities signed a memorandum of cooperation on teaching, research, and talent cultivation.

Guo Fu extended warm welcome to President Dong Hwan Kim and the members of Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech) delegation. Both universities are based in a capital city and committed to serving the nation and facilitating regional development. Academic disciplines, educational philosophies, and visions of both institutions are in high agreement with each other, which is the solid foundation for long-standing cooperation. It is hoped that both institutions would promote cooperation in respect of joint cultivation of talents, faculty exchange, and collaborated research innovation to achieve new high in Sino-Korea educational and cultural exchange and communication. Guo Fu said.

Dong Hwan Kim offered an introduction to the University. He added that the philosophy of globalized education of BISTU strongly resonates with that of SeoulTech. He pointed out that signing of the MoU started a new chapter for SeoulTech’s cooperation with Chinese partners. It is an event of great implications for SeoulTech in building a global network of cooperation. He added that the two institutions could work together in artificial intelligence, data science, intelligent manufacturing, and robotic to contribute to global technological innovation.

Guo Fu and Dong Hwan Kim signed the memorandum of cooperation on behalf of their respective institutions. According to the MoU, both institutions would work together in a wide spectrum of areas.

Members of SeoulTech delegation included Director Jihong Hwang of International Affairs Office, Prof. Minsoo Park of Department of of Mechanical System and Design Engineering, Haeyeon Im and Sunyeong Hwang of International Affairs Office, and Wooyoung Shin and Huiling Zheng of International Admissions. The meeting and signing ceremony was also joined by faculty and staff of Office of Global Affairs, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and College of International Education of BISTU.
