
Beijing, 4th September 2026 (BISTU)--- BISTU greeted over 6,300 new students on the cool morning of 4th September 2026.




“Starting from now to shape your future self” banners were seen everywhere in Shahe Campus, Xiaoying Campus and Zhangjiakou Campus. Various themed photo spots attracted quite some students who just joined BISTU to start their college life with dreams and expectations.


The University attached great important to greeting new students. Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council, President Guo Fu, and Vice Chairperson Shi Zhenjun of the University Council inspected Xiaoying Campus. Vice President Wang Xingwen inspected enrollment check-in points of Shahe Campus.


Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu held talks with students and their parents and extended best wishes to all new students. “I am very much assured to leave my kid in the School’s care”, said a parent.

The University prepared birthday cake for five students whose birthdays are on the day. Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu joined the celebration. The song of happy birthday melted students’ unease of being a freshman in a new place. It is a heartwarming memory for them. “It is the first time that he is away so far from us. I was worried that he might be lonely. Now I am very relieved. BISTU is a home for him.” Said a parent.

Xie Jiangling and Guo Fu also inspected the Green Passage (for financial aid and student loans). They encouraged students to let go of worries and concentrate on studying knowledge. The University will always be here for them. They said. BISTU continued to offer support packages with financially challenged students to make sure that each and every of them would be able to get enrolled and begin their journey with confidence.

Shi Zhenjun inspected Xiaoying Campus and held talks with new students and their parents. He also checked the halls of residence and enquired students about their comments on the living environment. The warmth of campus would make students feel at home. He stressed.

Vice President Li Huatao inspected Zhangjiakou Campus and checked enrollment procedures for news students of the Astra Residential College. He said that relating departments and offices should help new students get accustomed to the new environment of learning and living.






BISTU colleges, departments and offices have made sound preparations for greeting new students, in addition to sufficient emergency planning. Staff and volunteers got ready early in the morning on campuses to provide warm and effective services for students and their parents.


In order to better greet new students, parent lounges, residence hall service stations, and refreshment hubs were established with first-aid supplies, drinking water, wet wipes, and other daily essentials. Discounts were also offered with students and their parents in canteens, supermarkets, and vending machines for souvenirs.
Themed on “Starting from now to shape your future self”, the greeting of new students was jointly completed by all colleges, departments, and offices of the University. It is a welcome event that combined warmth, cutting-edge technology, and a true sense of occasion.


Digitelligence empowerment highlighted new student greeting. A digitelligence platform enabled students to complete a series of actions before enrolment. On the enrolment sites, new students can open the “Student Services” platform through WeChat, scan the QR code, and start a special chat with “Zhixin” – our AI chatbot. Students were asked to describe their hopes for college in just three words. Based on their answers, Zhixin would generate a personalized welcome message. Zhixin is available 24/7 to answer questions about learning, campus life, or anything else they might need.
The university has created a “Moment” experience that guides new students through three meaningful enrollment steps. “Moment of Reflection” - stickers on the floor - prompts students to think about what college really means to them. “Moment of Transition” – an arched door – witnesses the transition from high school to college life as they walk through it.And then all students would reach “Moment of Commitment” – where they would scan a QR code and answer a few questions.


Stickers with signatures of students were put on walls. And students wrote their expectations on the future on the “Wishing Wall”. The boards marked with “Rest assured, parents” provided parents with answers addressing their top concerns.
The first day of school would allow students to obtain their first extracurricular credits. On the site there were tips and stickers with essays on university history, academic structure, academic progress, etc. New students can scan relevant QR codes to start answering questions based on these tips and stickers. A correct answer would bring them an extracurricular credit.
The 6,300 new students would start their college life at BISTU. Opening ceremony, orientation program, and military training would be held in later days to help them settle in. We sincerely wish that all new students would stay grounded and make each day count for their college life.
