Beijing, 12th January 2026 (BISTU)--- The national finals of the 7th Global Campus Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Elite Competition saw three teams of BISTU, supervised by Zhang Xiaoqing of BISTU College of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering, win First Prize in the sub-session Smart City Autonomous Drive Algorithm Application.

The Competition was co-hosted by Organizing Committee of Global Campus Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Elite Competition and Jiangsu Association of Artificial Intelligence and co-organized by Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and Zhongguancun Academy. The Contest of Smart City Autonomous Drive Algorithm Application attracted over 300 teams in preliminary session and only about 100 teams from 53 universities entered the finals.



Members of the three teams of College of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering achieved perfect balance between learning and preparing for the Competition. They have fully utilized their spare time to find-tune algorithms and debug car models and to strengthen team coordination.

Based on thorough preparation, the teams were able to deal with various emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. Their outstanding capability in algorithm and stable performance won them the first prize.
BISTU has been centering on nurturing independent innovation capability of students. The honors the three teams have been granted showcased innovative and tenacious spirit of BISTU students and the progress that College of Instrument Science and Opto-electronics Engineering has made in education.
