Beijing, 14th March 2025 (BISTU)--- President Guo Fu met with a Kazakhstan education delegation on 14th March 2025 and signed memorandums of understanding with Astana IT University and Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business.
Guo Fu extended warm welcome to Kazakhstan delegation and offered an introduction to BISTU in respect of educational characteristics, academic disciplines, research strengths, campuses, talent cultivation, and employment of graduates. Guo Fu stressed that the University has been adhering to the guiding principle “bringing BISTU to the world and the world to BISTU” and running the school in an open manner. As of today, BISTU has established friendly cooperation ties with over 120 higher educational institutions in 28 countries and regions of the world and successfully built a brand “Studying at BISTU”. He pointed out that BISTU remains a major choice for Kazakhstan students. They are diligent in learning and active in participating culture exchanges. They have become one of the bridges connecting China and Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is one of the first cohort joining the Belt and Road Initiative, setting an example of mutual benefit and win-win for the world with Sino-Kazakhstan strategic partnership. It is expected that memorandums of understanding serve as a new starting point from which two parties would explore multi-dimensional collaboration in faculty exchange, student exchange, joint research, joint school-running, etc. so that we could together contribute to educational development of the two countries and high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The meeting was joined by Abdumurzayev Askhat, an educational counselor of the Kazakhstan Embassy in China, Rector Khikmetov Askar of Astana IT University, and Rector Makhmetova Anar of Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business. They expressed that all parties involved are expected to strengthen communication in the area of information technology and business with focus on artificial intelligence and AI application in business and trade. Detailed discussions were conducted on other areas of potential collaboration.
On behalf of BISTU, Guo Fu signed memorandums of understanding with Astana IT University and Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business, formally establishing cooperative ties with the two institutions. Future explorations of cooperation would be conducted in respect of teaching, research, and talent cultivation.
Members of the delegation include Astana IT University faculty and staff, i.e., Biloshchytskyi Andrii, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Akybayeva Gulvira, Vice-Rector for Academical Work, and Salykova Leila, Director of Department of International Relations, and Agazhanova Aidana, Chief Scientist of Department of International Affairs at Kenzhegali Sagadiev University of International Business. The meeting and discussions were also joined by directors and deans of BISTU Department of Research, Department of International Affairs, College of Computer Science, Business School, College of International Education, etc.
