Meeting with the Chairperson: BISTU Held Theme Event for Graduation Season

Beijing, 11th June 2026 (BISTU)--- Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council joined Meeting with the Chairperson, a theme event organized for graduation season of 2026. The Event was attended by Vice President Wang Xingfen, Vice President Li Huatao, and Director Du Shizhi of Department of Publicity.

After speeches delivered by representatives of graduating students, Xie Jiangling commented that graduation is not the terminal but the starting point from which students would embark on a new journey.

Xie Jiangling shared three insights with students. First, no hurry — take it slow. Upon graduation, we will step into an entirely new environment. Do not be impatient. Rather, stay composed and aim to be a calm observer, a quiet listener, and a pragmatic doer. Second, Second, never be afraid to ask questions. Always stay humble, take the initiative to seek advice from colleagues, learn from industry professionals, and acquire knowledge from professional books. We shall improve ourselves through continuous learning. And third, make gradual progress through practice. We will experience both success and failure. All the lessons we learn along the way are necessary parts of our growth.

Xie Jiangling quoted ancient Chinese poems to tell students that even after seeing the vast galaxy and the infinite cosmos, we shall remain tolerant and compassionate. We must learn to keep faith and passion alive in difficult times. Knowing without doing is merely not truly knowing, which is why we shall d take actions instead of just pondering things over and over.

Xie Jiangling and students watched video clips of Cho-Yun Hsu receiving interview and encouraged students to keep forging ahead in a down-to-earth manner.

Wang Xingfen and Li Huatao also sent messages to the graduates, encouraging them to always keep the spirit of the university motto in mind.

Thirteen representatives of graduating students shared their stories. They looked back with deep affection on their youthful years and growth stories at the university. Their experiences serve as the most vivid illustration of the university's spirit of "diligence and honor." On behalf of the young faculty members, Dai Shimeng from the Department of Physical Education offered her best wishes to the graduates, hoping that they would carry the confidence of youth and calmly step into the new arena of life.
