Beijing, 2nd June 2026 (BISTU)--- Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council and President Guo Fu met with Associate VP Chris Busch of the University of Windsor. Both universities renewed the memorandum of cooperation.

Xie Jiangling extended warm welcome to the delegation of the University of Windsor. He pointed out that educational globalization is one of the key strategies in building BISTU into a high-level university of applied learning with distinctive feature in information technology. International development is given high priority by the university. The philosophy of driving reform through openness and fueling growth through cooperation is upheld. Cross-cultural exchanges are also actively promoted. He expected that consensus between the two universities is to be built to nurture talents of the new era with patriotism, global vision, and professional skills, enhance mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign youth, and promote Sino Canadian educational cooperation.

On the signing ceremony, Guo Fu reviewed the past fruitful cooperation between the two universities. Successful faculty and student exchanges have laid solid foundation for further cooperation. BISTU looked forward to deepening strategic cooperation with high-level universities represented by the University of Windsor. Guo Fu commented that BISTU attached great importance to cooperation with the University of Windsor and had the educational capacity and resources for fruitful cooperation. He added that renewal of the memorandum of cooperation would be a new starting point for both institutions to build a comprehensive, multi-layered cooperative system.
Chris Busch spoke highly of development and achievements of BISTU in the past years. The University of Windsor is committed to building long-standing, mutual beneficial inter-school relationship. The two universities would work perfectly together based on previous successful cooperation and high-alignment in academic strengths. The University of Windsor would like to establish strategic partnership with BISTU. He added that the visit aimed to build a high-level platform of cooperation to bring inter-school exchange and communication onto a new stage. New breakthrough in cooperation will for sure be achieved. He said.

Guo Fu and Chris Busch signed the memorandum of cooperation on behalf of their respective institutions. According to the MoU, both institutions would conduct cooperation in the field of teaching, research, and talent cultivation.

The University of Windsor delegation visited teaching and research facilities of College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and College of Information and Communication Engineering.

Members of the University of Windsor delegation included Brent Furneaux, Program Director of Master of Management at Odette School of Business, Bruce Minaker, Head of the Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering Department at Faculty of Engineering, Ziad Kobti, Director of School of Computer Science at Faculty of Science, and Yunfang Bai, Admissions Advisor of China Section. Directors and deans of BISTU Graduate School, Global Affairs Office, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and College of Information, Communication Engineering, College of Management Science and Engineering, and College of International Education joined the event.
