
Beijing, 18th January 2026 (BISTU)--- Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council visited Zhongguancun Academy and Zhongguancun Institute of Artificial Intelligence on 17th January 2026 and met with Liu Tieyan, President of Zhongguancun Academy and Chairman of Zhongguancun Institute of Artificial Intelligence. Vice President Li Huatao joined the visit. Xie Jiangling also attended completion ceremony of renovation project of the two institutions and extended greetings to BISTU faculty and staff members who have worked for the project.

Xie Jiangling extended congratulations to successful completion of the renovation project and talked about cooperation between BISTU and the two institutions. He pointed out that relating departments and colleges of BISTU would conduct specialized coordination work to provide support with future cooperation. It was expected that the two parties would deepen coordination in respect of academic discipline building, construction of research platforms, staff development, and talent introduction. Xie Jiangling added.
Liu Tieyan extended sincere thanks to BISTU for the support provided in the past year. Solid foundation for future cooperation has been laid. It was hoped that BISTU would continue to provide guidance and support in party building, academic exchange, staff development, and student management. Both parties would work together to shoulder the responsibilities of nurturing leading talents in artificial intelligent to make greater contributions to independence and self-reliance of high-level science and technology. Liu said.

Xie Jiangling extended cordial greetings to faculty and staff members of BISTU who have joined the preparation for and building of the two institutions. The BISTU team headed by Zheng Zhaoyi included Tang Jinrun, Yang Zheng, Zhang Fei, and Zhao Xiwei. They have provided sufficient support with the two institutions in respect of supporting infrastructure, assets management, logistics management, safety and security, etc.

The visit clarified orientation of future cooperation and enhanced consensus between the two parties. Multi-dimension cooperation between BISTU and the two institutions would be strengthened and deepened to facilitate high-quality development of regional education and technological innovation.
