Beijing, 5th June 2026 (BISTU)--- Qinghai Institute of Technology delegation headed by Chairperson Yu Shijie of the Institute Council, visited BISTU on 5th June 2026. Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council met with the delegation.

Xie Jiangling expressed warm welcome to Qinghai Institute of Technology delegation and offered a brief introduction to BISTU. Xie Jiangling commented that Chairperson Yu Shijie has worked at BISTU for years and made substantial contributions to the University. The bond between BISTU and QHIT would be further strengthened. Xie Jiangling spoke highly of the achievements that QHIT has made in the past years: having successfully built a modernized university within a relatively short period of time; better-equipped facilities plus modern governance; outstanding performance of faculty and students in competitions and volunteer services; and the open-mind in cross-region cooperation and communication. The two institutions are expected to conduct regular exchange and communication for the purpose of mutual benefit and mutual development. He added.

Yu Shijie recalled the unforgettable days at BISTU and offered an introduction to QHIT in respect of development history, educational orientation, organizational structure, academic disciplines, and future development planning. QHIT is on a crucial stage of learning from sister schools in educational development and governance. Practices and experiences of BISTU in teaming building, new campus construction, auditing, publicity, one-stop student community, and logistics service are very good reference for QHIT. It was hoped that both institutions would conduct cooperation in the area of talent cultivation and academic research to serve national development strategy and regional high-quality development. Yu Shijie said.

Xie Jiangling and Yu Shijie exchanged commemorative gifts on behalf of their respective institutions.

Faculty of the two institutions conducted in-depth discussions centering on their areas of expertise and shared successful experiences and practices. Both institutions have achieved mutual sharing of experience, mutual learning of approaches, and mutual complementation of weaknesses.

QHIT delegation visited one-stop student community, intelligent classroom, master control center for teaching, the University Library, University Archives, and exhibition for research findings.

The event was attended by QHIT Vice Chairperson Song Hui, Vice President Ma Zhiming, Vice Chairperson Zhang Kaisheng, Vice President Li Hecheng, BISTU Vice President Zhang Jian, Vice President Li Huatao, Vice President Mi Jie, Assistant to the President Ying Shuzhi as well as directors of relating departments and offices of the two universities.
