Beijing, 12th June 2026 (BISTU)--- Chairperson Xie Jiangling of BISTU University council met with Beijing Academy of Social Sciences delegation headed by President He Yalan on 12th June 2026.

On behalf of BISTU, Xie Jiangling extended warm welcome to Beijing Academy of Social Sciences delegation and offered a brief introduction to the University. As an engineering-oriented university, BISTU laid equal focus on humanities. Xie Jiangling said. He added that Beijing Academy of Social Sciences, as a comprehensive research institute in philosophy and social sciences, has unique academic strength in strategic research, theoretical exploration, and application studies. It was hoped that both institutions would deepen cooperation in respect of joint research, building of think tanks, and theoretical studies. BISTU would promote interdisciplinary fusion between humanities and social sciences and artificial intelligence to make greater contribution to social and economic development of Beijing. Xie Jiangling said.

He Yalan expressed thanks to the warm reception and pointed that BISTU has obtained rapid growth in recent years. Salient contributions have been made by BISTU in building Beijing into an international center of science and technology innovation and in promoting Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development. She commented that BISTU has strong strength in engineering and unique characteristics in fusion of engineering and humanities. She added that both institutions could conduct collaboration in joint research and joint academic activities and work together in think-tank building.

Director Cao Lin of Department of Research offered an introduction to academic discipline building in humanities and social sciences. Director Chen Bing of Department of Development Strategy and Planning explained thinking and working plan of the University in integration of education, sci-tech, and talent.

The delegation of Beijing Academy of Social Sciences conducted survey on exhibition of research achievements, Beijing Base for Knowledge Management Research, University Library, University Archives, and facilities of Shahe Campus.

The Event was attended by Vice President Yang Weiguo, Vice President Lu Ya, and Vice President Ji Yingyong of Beijing Academy of Social Sciences and Vice President Wang Xingfen, Vice President Zhang Jian, and Vice President Mi Jie of BISTU.
