
Beijing, 14th June 2026 (BISTU)--- The Open Day for Astra Residential College was held on 14th June 2026 at Zhangjiakou Campus. The event, organized both online and offline, attracted over 4,000 students and parents to a series of activities and was covered by a number of major media.


Chairperson Xie Jiangling of the University Council and Vice President Wang Xingfen held talks with students and their parents on educational philosophy, talent cultivation features, and academic strengths of the College. Xie Jiangling commented that Astra Residential College is an important step of the University in taking initiative in serving Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development and facilitating regional development. The College explored new models of industry-education integration, aimed to serve regional industrial development, and strove to build a replicable demonstration model of education.

Department chairs of 13 academic programs offered at the College produced introductions to the complete credit system, academic strengths, talent cultivation systems, and future career planning, covering a number of new programs such as New Energy Science and Engineering (co-run with North China Electric Power University), Accounting (CPA), Business Administration, Electronic Information Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, etc.


Dean Hou Xia of Astra Residential College and Director Wang Lei of Department of Admissions and Career Services offered explanations on talent cultivation models, academic programs, academic practices, admissions policy changes, and undergraduate admissions policy.


The University specially arranged shuttle buses connecting the high-speed railway station and the College. In addition to equestrianism demonstration, the College also provided students and their parents with food services and culture experiences.



During the Open Day, the University Archives, the University Library, School-enterprise joint laboratory, labs of various specialties, intelligent classrooms, halls of residence, canteen, gyms, etc., were all open to students and their parents.


A series of road-shows including drone show and robotics show were also organized to present strengths and characteristics of the University in academic discipline building, talent cultivation, student development, and social service in a holistic manner.
Individualized admissions services and campus experiences with warmth lead students and their parents to a deeper understanding of educational orientation and development philosophy of the University.
